Learn how to beer?

My feelings.
Obviously, some bartenders are exempt. But if we want to impress our customers with beer knowledge, the rest of us can take the initiative or whatever!

I was looking at beer-related events being held. NXNW is offering a Beer 101 class on January 21. It costs money, though - 35 bones. Obviously we can't all go. Whole Foods has a beer and cheese tasting demo, but that sounds kinda dumb (a demonstration for $25). Or, as we've discussed before: barty field trip to a brewery!

And then there's the Internet which can save you dolla, but I went ahead and did a bit of the looking for you. I downloaded a .pdf version of The Craft of Stone Brewing. And, lookie, I also have it in .epub format for you fancy types.  And other books in various formats. List and links at the end.

Of course, we also have co-workers that are well-versed in brew. I recently recall Megan expressing interest in holding a beer class for us.

A couple quick beer resources in PDF format:
Central Market's Beer Guide (they also have a wine guide but we're a drafthouse, dammit!)
Craft Beer and Food Pairing Chart (Mr. Mill-dolla showed me this one)

And some full-on books:
The Craft of Stone Brewing [amazon] - we're more interested in Parts 1 and 3, but Part 2 has some pretty interesting stuff if someone wants to know more about Stone IPA or Arrogant Bastard Ale (or any other Stone we could potentially have on Badass Tap). [pdf - 40 MB] [epub - 22 MB]

Great American Craft Beer [amazon] [pdf - 9 MB] [epub - 7 MB]

Tasting Beer [amazon] [pdf - 6 MB] [epub - 3 MB] [mobi - 10 MB]
